Buying for more than one school

Some things a trust buys once for everybody. Some things each school has to hold for itself. The line is drawn where the thing being bought is measured.

Bought once, by the trust

Anything priced as a single licence or a single subscription: written material, a set of templates, a package of reserved guidance. The trust holds it, and the entitlement passes down to every member school automatically.

That is a genuine saving and it is worth checking before each school buys its own. Your trust page shows what the trust holds alongside what each school holds.

Bought per school

Anything priced by pupils, or anything that is a service to a school:

• Per-pupil agreements. The price comes from a roll, and each school has its own. See what a price means.
• Anything with days or visits in it. An adviser's time is spent at a site. See visits against a day entitlement.
• Training places. A place is a seat and a person sits in it.

You can still do the buying centrally: switch into each school and place its order. What you cannot do is buy one agreement covering nine schools, because the thing being priced does not exist at that level.

Invoicing

Invoices follow the organisation that placed the order. A trust order is invoiced to the trust; a school order placed by the trust is invoiced to the school. That is set by whose basket it was in, so it is worth being clear which one you are in before you check out — the banner across the top says.

Renewals

Each school's renewals are its own and appear on its own renewals page. The trust sees them all from its trust page, which is the right place to work through a summer term: nine schools, one list, in one sitting.

Getting a trust price

Where you want one figure across the trust for something that is normally per school, ask. Request a quote, say how many schools and give the rolls, and a service area can price it as a package. Accepting it produces an order like any other. See asking for a quote.
